About Us

Mill Way Art & Antiques Gallery was established in 2014. After half of century of collecting marine art for my personal enjoyment, I decided, upon retirement from a career in biotech, to expand my livelong passion into an entrepreneurial pursuit. My vision for Mill Way Art & Antiques is to provide a venue for me to share my appreciation for the artistic representations of coastal vistas, the power and serenity of the ocean, and the magnificent vessels who ply it with fellow collectors. As I am particularly drawn to the maritime paintings of the 19th and early 20th century, so too does my gallery focus on these works. While my personal walls are filled, my desire to continually seek out new works that touch me with their vision and masterful technique remains unquenched. Collecting, curating and selling paintings as they become available allows me to pursue my passion while utilizing my expertise to enable likeminded collectors to pursue theirs.

My personal philosophy about collecting art is simple. First and foremost you must love it. If a work speaks to you, if it fills a need, if it allows you to make a statement you wish to make, then you should own it. I believe there are three categories of art: wall art, collectible art, and investment quality works. Each has its value. The range of prices vary wildly as do collectors’ budgets. But the intrinsic value of the work should always be informed by the collector’s pleasure in the piece. At Mill Way Art & Antiques you will find paintings from all three categories. It is our hope that from our ever changing collection you will find a work that speaks directly to you.

The gallery is open by appointment. All of our paintings are on display in our web site. We are happy to work with you find a convenient time to visit our collection. If we currently do not have what you are looking for, we would be honored to utilize our resources to help you find it.
